OST began providing social media management and content marketing for one of the UK’s most popular online gaming companies, Gala Bingo, in 2015. Our brief was to drive engagement and encourage customer loyalty.
Online bingo is a hugely popular activity in the UK, especially among women, so we knew there was potential to build a genuine online community for Gala. Our mission was to create fun content that engaged their fans and drove word-of-mouth sharing. We tried to spark a bit of conversation and share a bit of happiness every day.
Gala’s fans loved our content. Between 2016 and 2018 Gala Bingo’s channels become a model of highly engaging community management. We also ran industry-leading campaigns using innovative techniques, such as our live video for The Chase on Facebook, which attracted over 27,000 comments in just one hour.
In 2016/17 we grew Gala’s social community by 13% and increased the engagement rate from 0.05% to 3%. Within 12 months Gala’s Facebook page had become the most responsive in the industry. In 2017/18 we built on this success, increasing Gala’s engagement rate on Facebook to 4%.
In 2017 OST also launched Gala Spins on Facebook and Twitter, catering to a younger demographic of online players. In it’s initial 12 months Gala Spins grew to become the #1 most socially engaged brand in the industry, with a 7% engagement rate on Facebook and 11% on Twitter.
We’re into our 2nd year on Gala, and I have to say that the OST team is still going above and beyond; nothing is too much of a big ask. The team are great to work with, and I sincerely believe without the efforts of OST we wouldn’t be executing our strategy and having the success we’re having.
